The Black Archives of Mid-America invites the community to experience “Radiance and Resilience,” a powerful August exhibition celebrating creativity, identity, strength, and the enduring beauty of Black artistic expression.

This month’s exhibition features the work of:

✨ Clarissa Knighten

Through portraiture, mixed media, jewelry, and visual storytelling, these artists offer unique perspectives on culture, self-expression, and resilience.

🎨 A New Featured Artist Has Joined the Black Art Exhibition 2026!

The Black Archives of Mid-America is proud to welcome George C. Mayfield as an additional featured artist in our Black Art Exhibition 2026.

A nationally recognized artist and owner of George C. Mayfield Studio in Kansas City, Kansas, Mr. Mayfield has spent more than 37 years creating powerful works of art that inspire, challenge, and celebrate the Black experience. His collection includes breathtaking portraits, abstract works, 3D art, and photo-realistic still lifes that have been exhibited both nationally and internationally.

His artwork is more than paint on canvas—it is storytelling through color, emotion, and perspective.
