Buffalo DAV Auxiliary and the Juniors were out last night braving the heat at Lucas Oil Speedway. What a HUGE success they had!

I would like to thank each and everyone of you for making this convention such a success! Thank you all for your tireless efforts in helping and supporting our disabled veterans and their families!! I would also like to thank Kim Human and the Finance Committee for their awesome efforts, and all the Committee Chairmen for their hard work! A special thank you to our Convention Chair, Shauna Shalvey, and her Co-Chair Angie Van Gorp for their tireless efforts to make the convention such a success! Also a big shout out of thanks and gratitude to Unit 2, Unit 11, Unit 62, Unit 66, our National Commander Melissa Pierce, Chapter 49 and Kim Tatham Chapter 51 for making the Clothes to wear, Things to share, Let’s show our veterans we care” donation drive for the Harry S Truman VA Medical Center such a success. A SUPER big thank you to the DAV State Chaplain/Hospital Service Coordinator Chris Waterfield for graciously transporting all the donation items to the Harry S Truman VA Medical Center. Thank you all for a wonderful year! The State Department is in exceptionally capable hands for the upcoming year, and I cannot wait to see all the wonderful things that our newly elected line officers and especially our wonderful new State Commander Eartherline Downs will accomplish!

What a great weekend at the 42nd Disabled American Veterans & Auxiliary Annual Convention in Columbia, Mo!! I hope everyone made it home safely! We had so many laughs and fun! Successful meetings and making new friends!! We had 2 phenomenal National guest as well! I didn’t get any pictures at Fun Night, but there were a lot of laughs! I hope Shauna has more pictures to share!

As we commence the week of the State Convention, we would like to remind everyone that this year's theme is Sports. We encourage you to showcase your favorite teams' spirit. On Friday night, designated as Fun Night, participants will have a chance to compete in 'Minute to Win It.' The Banquet Night on Saturday is a prime opportunity to don your finest sports attire. We wish everyone a safe journey to and from the event.

Unit 2, Kansas City… we delivered gift bags to Veterans in the lobby at the KCVA Hospital on Thursday the 12th, for Veteran appreciation week. We had my (Angie’s) 2 youngest grandkids as little helpers… they brought a lot of smiles to a lot of people!
