Nourish KC Community Kitchen We are a nonprofit focused on building a food secure Kansas City community. Free lunch is served Monday - Friday from 12:00 noon - 3:00pm

NourishKC, formerly Episcopal Community Services, is a nonprofit dedicated to building a food-secure region in the Greater Kansas City area, both in providing healthy food and assisting the community to move beyond the barriers of poverty with dignity. In operation for more than 25 years, we offer several programs including Kansas City Community Kitchen at 750 Paseo, a network of emergency food pa

ntries and meal programs, food rescue and Culinary Training Program. We aim is to feed anyone in need and change lives in the process by partnering with agencies and helping our volunteers build community.

This week, our kitchen is cooking like a restaurant — because that’s exactly the skill we’re building. 👨🏾‍🍳

Every plate starts with rescued and donated food. Every sauce is a real technique our student chefs are mastering, not a shortcut.

That’s the whole model: turn what’s recovered into something worth ordering out for.

Behind the scenes, we track every week against the HER (Healthy Eating Research) Index — a national nutrition standard that scores our menus on how much of each plate is genuinely nourishing. It’s how we hold ourselves accountable for serving real meals, not just full plates.
