Nourish KC Community Kitchen We are a nonprofit focused on building a food secure Kansas City community. Free lunch is served Monday - Friday from 12:00 noon - 3:00pm

NourishKC, formerly Episcopal Community Services, is a nonprofit dedicated to building a food-secure region in the Greater Kansas City area, both in providing healthy food and assisting the community to move beyond the barriers of poverty with dignity. In operation for more than 25 years, we offer several programs including Kansas City Community Kitchen at 750 Paseo, a network of emergency food pantries and meal programs, food rescue and Culinary Training Program. We aim is to feed anyone in need and change lives in the process by partnering with agencies and helping our volunteers build community.

This week for lunch at Nourish KC.

Wednesday’s chicken has a story: reclaimed from a local partner and on our guests’ trays instead of in a landfill. That’s what stability looks like, one plate at a time the Economic Power framework we practice as members of the reDefine Alliance, their field guide at work in a working kitchen.

The Kansas City Plaza Rotary Club recently partnered with Nourish KC Community Kitchen through a District Grant project to support expanded meal production and food rescue efforts.

With grant funding, Nourish KC purchased a new commercial refrigerator and baking sheeter, allowing the organization to safely store more rescued food from partners like Whole Foods Market and Trader Joe's, increase daily meal output, expand pantry distributions, and enhance baking and workforce training capabilities.

KC Plaza Rotarians are proud to volunteer with NourishKC each month to help prepare and serve meals for our community.

Ever wonder what happens to the beef that chefs at Eddie V's trim from their top-grade beef tenderloins? They donate it to Pete's Garden!

Since the trim is uncooked, we've developed a special partnership with Nourish KC to safely get them this quality meat for use in their on-site community meal program. Chef Shanita and her team prepare wonderful lunch entrees with beef trim that otherwise would be thrown out. It's a delicious partnership, thanks to Eddie V's Prime Seafood on the Country Club Plaza.
