Scottish Rite Masons Helping Children Communicate

As part of our mission as Scottish Rite Masons, we actively fund and support the Ritecare Clinic in our building, staffed by an amazing set of therapists from Children's Mercy.

"The Children's Mercy Rhyming to Reading program provides small group lessons that teach children pre-literacy, or early reading skills. The purpose of the class is to teach preschoolers the foundational skills necessary for reading success. We have several families who have enrolled more than one of their children in the class. One family has had all three of their children participate in the class at the Northland Clinic. These children were able to enroll in these classes as well as receive speech-language therapy at Children's Mercy because of the generous donations provided by the Scottish Rite. The family was able to access Scottish Rite grant funds for all three of their children. They are now all thriving in elementary school and are successful readers."

The Ritecare Clinic, the therapists, and successes with the kids attending the Clinics and classes are such a positive aspect of Scottish Rite Freemasonry we should share.
