🎉Westside Infrastructure Improvements

Today, Westside neighbors and community members celebrated improvements along Southwest Boulevard.

The new Las Tarascas Plaza was unveiled. This bronze sculpture of three Purépecha women lifting a tray of fruit to the sky is a gift to Kansas City from our sister city of Morelia, México.

🚨VOLUNTEERS NEEDED🪏🪴Our neighborhood library is looking for gardening volunteers!

Gardening friends, we are in desperate need of some gardening volunteers at the moment. Please reach out if you are interested in volunteering! Currently we are in need of help with leaf pick up, weeding, pruning and general garden clean up. We have some tools, but not a lot so I highly encourage you to bring your own tools from home. Thank you all so much for any and all help!

Amigos de la jardinería, en este momento necesitamos desesperadamente voluntarios para el jardín.Por favor, pónganse en contacto con nosotros si están interesados en colaborar. Actualmente necesitamos ayuda para recoger hojas, deshierbar (quitar malas hierbas), podar y hacer una limpieza general del jardín. Contamos con algunas herramientas, pero no son muchas, por lo que les recomiendo encarecidamente que traigan sus propias herramientas de casa. ¡Muchas gracias a todos por cualquier tipo de ayuda!

🎉 The Ruiz Library 3D Printer is officially here! Check out the cool 3D printer samples. Stop by the Ruiz library anytime before 1pm today for the Summer Reading Kick Off Party. This makerspace project was made possible through the City of Kansas City Neighborhood Empowerment Grant in collaboration with the Westside Neighborhood Association. We are thankful for our partnership with the Kansas City Public Library Ruiz Branch. Thank you! Happy creating!
