It’s not only important to want to help, it’s vital to understand what our community actually needs. Huge thanks to LEAD Innovation Studio for including UKC in its Spotlight Night where we got to see students unveil a mini golf hole created in honor of Uncover KC. As part of a larger Design Thinking project, students selected local nonprofits to feature and brought their ideas to life in seriously creative ways. Such a fun way to connect creativity with community impact!

A few meaningful moments from around the UKC community. 💙🧡

Recently, MARC participants visited Jewish Family Services for an engaging tour to learn more about the programs and support services JFS provides to individuals and families across our community and the many ways volunteers can get involved.

We’re also proud to celebrate Ted Tschirhart, who was honored at Union Station with the Show Me Service Award, an annual recognition from the Missouri Community Service Commission celebrating outstanding volunteerism and service across the state.

Moments like these are such a good reminder that community impact takes many forms: learning, showing up, serving, and celebrating the people who lead by example.

We had a blast volunteering alongside The NASCAR Foundation in support of Operation Breakthrough KC for the Speediatrics Fun Day Festival. 🏁💙

Through the program, students learned about becoming healthier versions of themselves, then got to celebrate that learning with a special NASCAR experience. Our UKC team helped run activity stations for 115 students, making the day extra fun and memorable.

A few impact stats from the day:

👟 115 pairs of sneakers
🚶🏻‍➡️ 1,260,000 steps completed
🦺 42 volunteers

What an incredible day of movement, learning and community!

We had such a great time supporting Kauffman’s Take Your Child to Work Day with a service project for Amethyst Place. Kids spent the day making Mother’s Day cards, painting flower pots, and potting flowers, while also learning about nonprofits, entrepreneurship, and the power of giving back.

Huge thanks to our guest speakers for helping make the day even more meaningful!
