Michael Rothenberg was the co-founder of 100,000 Poets for Change. The event has been going on for over a decade, always on the same day in September worldwide.

100 Thousand Poets for Change is a grassroots organization that brings poets, artists and musicians together to call for environmental, social, and political change within the framework of peace and sustainability. The local focus is key to this global event as communities around the world raise their voices through concerts, readings, and demonstrations that speak to the heart of their concerns.

Events around the world, according to co-founder Michael Rothenberg, aim to redirect the current political and social dialogue toward hope and cooperation. “Peace and sustainability are major concerns worldwide, and the guiding principle for this global event Common ground will be built through this global compilation of local stories, to create a new narrative to inform the future.”
