Isla Cares Foundation

EIN: 99-3546996 On August 29, 2022, we brought our 18-month-old daughter, Isla, to walk-in hours at our pediatrician's office. Thank you for your partnership!

Isla Cares Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that encourages children battling cancer in KC and supports their families through personalized care packages. After some quick lab work, we were sent to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City where they told us they suspected cancer. She was officially diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) and was in surgery to place

her port for treatment the very next day. Our brave girl has been battling Leukemia ever since and is scheduled to complete treatment in December of 2024. Throughout Isla's fight, we have been abundantly blessed by family members, friends, co-workers, and local organizations. Meals, prayers, thoughtful gifts, and financial aid have truly helped lessen some of the burden cancer has brought to our lives. Their kindness and generosity inspired us to establish the Isla Cares Foundation. Isla Cares supports and encourages children with cancer and their families through personalized care packages. Our care packages are filled with gift cards, comfort items, and toys and activities that can easily be brought to the hospital. Learning that your child has cancer is devastating but with your help, we hope to bring a light to families in the depths of their child’s fight.

⭐️ Meet Oliver ⭐️

This brave 2-year-old AML warrior loves Bluey, trains, stickers, and spending time outside. 💙

This delivery was extra special because we got to unpack his care package with him! His mom shared that it helped make their long appointment go by so much quicker—and that’s exactly what we hoped it would do. 🥹💙

Help us wish this brave girl a very happy 15th birthday! 🎉

This is the update our hearts needed!

“Madi has been doing absolutely amazing since starting maintenance a few months ago. For the first time since diagnosis, she’s been a kid again. She spent her summer golfing and started coaching golf. She was fortunate enough to speak at a fundraiser a few weeks ago to tell her story and did outstanding! Madi was also part of Friendly Feud this year for Big Slick and had a blast and really came out of her shell. She went to prom. She’s been studying for her drivers permit and about ready to jump behind the wheel… She’ll be spending her birthday at Disney World for her Make-A-Wish trip this year and is so excited to just go and be/feel like a normal kid. She decided this year to move to online school and hybrid to start college on a path towards pediatric oncology nursing!“

Madi, we are all cheering you on and praying that every single one of your dreams come true. ✨🧡 Happy birthday, sweet girl.

⭐️ Meet Evan ⭐️

This sweet smile belongs to a true warrior. Evan is bravely facing treatment for a recurring Wilms tumor, and when we received his care package request, he was in the PICU. Thankfully, he’s doing much better and is now back home. 🙌🏼

We were honored to deliver a care package to help make his treatment days just a little better. Moments like these are only possible because of your generosity and support.

Thank you for helping us bring a little encouragement and a lot of love to children like Evan. Please continue to keep him and his family in your prayers & cheer him on through his fight. 🎗️🩵
