We are "The KC Civitan Ex-Men". EX for EXTRAORDINARY!!!! Civitan International is an organization of volunteer service clubs around the world, dedicated to helping people in their own communities. Civitans help wherever the need arises – from collecting food for a homeless shelter, to volunteering at their local retirement home, to building a playground for children with disabilities. e been helping people since the organization’s founding in 1917, by a group of businessmen determined to make a difference in their community. We are the KC Civitan EX(traordinary)-Men. We are the new superheroes in town. We are here to show what we can do. Although, we have "Special Needs," we have no "dis" in our "Abilities." We can and will show our "Abilities" to those who wish to see them. We will share the abilities we have with those in our community, as well as, learn from others. It takes others that are willing to listen, learn and have patience, to help us become the EX-MEN that we are, as we grow to become the superheroes that we are. The EX-MEN will learn leadership skills, will volunteer, and will develop proper etiquette and social skills, so that they will be able to succeed and function in the community. If you have "special needs" and would like to learn and grow with us, then come and see what we are... ALL ABOUT!!!!

Some of our members are leaving this Tuesday to attend the Civitan International Convention in Greenville, SC. Wishing them all a safe and fun convention.

Our next meeting will be June 20, 2019 with Jennifer Dawson as our guest speaker. Jennifer works with those affected by autism. Join us at 6:00pm at Stony Point Christian Church, 149 S. 78th St. We serve a light meal followed by our meeting at 6:45pm.

Our next meeting will be March21 at Stoney Point Christian Church in KCK. Everyone is encouraged to get their "Green on".

Our next meeting will be Feb. 21 at Stony Point Christian Church, KCK. We are looking for men to become mentors for our guys. It will take maybe five hours per month (club meetings, board meetings every other month, and special event (activities).

2019 is off and running. Several of our members will be participating in the Special Olympic Polar Plunge in Feb. and will be looking for donations to reach their goal of raising $500.00 for Special Olympics. Donations may be sent to KC Civitan EX-Men Club, 3004 N. 54th St., Kansas City, KS 66104.

We want to thank the Red Lobster at the Legends and the Italian Delight Restaurant on West State Ave. for their generous support of our Bowl-A-Rama on August 11. We had a great time and a big thank you to the Lawrence Action Civitan Club for their participation.
