A Prayer for Indigenous Peoples’ Day
In Sacred Kinship with All Life

Today, may we pause in reverence and gratitude, honoring the Indigenous peoples of this land — the living nations and communities whose wisdom and traditions continue through generations.

We honor the ancestors for their courage, resilience, and prayers, and for the sacred relationships they nurtured with the Earth and all living beings.

And today, we also remember with compassionate honesty.
We acknowledge the lands taken, the promises broken, the lives lost, and the cultures suppressed. So many wounds still call for healing. May we meet these truths with compassion, humility, and the courage to do what is right.

And may we awaken to the wisdom of sacred kinship — remembering that we are not separate beings, living separate lives.

We belong to one another.

We belong within the great community of Life.
The rivers and forests, the winged ones and the four-legged, the mountains and the waters — all are part of this sacred circle of existence. And none of us, not one of us, flourishes alone.

Great Spirit, guide us toward a world where all beings may flourish. Where the wisdom of ancestors is honored, the voices of Indigenous peoples are heard, and generations yet to come inherit a world nurtured by love, justice, and peace.

May our lives be a blessing to all our relations.
