100 years ago, Soroptimists took a step that would change our future. 💙

In August 1926, women from 10 Soroptimist clubs came together with a simple but powerful belief: we need one another. They imagined something bigger than individual clubs, bigger than individual communities, and began laying the foundation for the international organization we know today.

Nearly a century later, that same spirit lives on in our districts, our South Central Region, and right here at Soroptimist International of Kansas City. We are stronger when we work together, support one another, and turn our shared vision into action.

The first step was taken 100 years ago. What will our next step be? Join us and be part of the future of Soroptimist. 💜

In August 1926, representatives from 10 Soroptimist clubs gathered in Oakland, California, to consider a question that would shape the organization’s future: Should the independent clubs come together as a federation?

Did you know that SIKC not only helps women and girls in our community?! There are opportunities to get involved at help women around the world through Soroptimist International.

SI is developing its first international awareness campaign on Gender Medicine, and we want the Working Group to reflect the full breadth of skills within our organisation.

We welcome Soroptimists with experience in planning, project management, communications, strategy, research and international collaboration, alongside those with professional or personal knowledge of health and medicine.

Last night we completed our big community service project of P3! (Period Poverty Project) thank you to all who supported our donation efforts! We were able to pack 242 pouches, with quite a bit leftover for restock for this first semester. We’ll be doing a “mini” restock the first part of second semester. Last year our pouches were divided among 3 schools in the district!
