Native Youth KC High school and middle school ministries of Sheffield Family Life Center in KCMO. Leading students to their native land and helping them stay there.

We believe that we were created by God, in the image of God, and to bring attention to God. Essentially, God's hand is our native-land. However, we also believe that at one time or another, each and every one of us have ventured outside of our native land and into a foreign land of sin (Isaiah 53:6, Romans 3:23)

Thankfully, God sent His son Jesus to help us find our way home. And it's only when we follow after Him, we can truly return, reclaim, and remain. RETURN
In order to return to the hand of God, we have to admit that Jesus is God, that we have sinned, and then ask Him to forgive our sins. Remember, He wants us to come home even more than we want to get home. (John 14:6, 2 Peter 3:9, I John 1:9)

RECLAIM
Even before we were born, God had a unique life-plan for each of us. When we stray away from God, we interrupt His plan for us. Once we return home we have to reclaim the plan that God has made for our lives (Ephesians 2:10). REMAIN
Once we reclaim God's plan for our lives, we will find ourselves right where God wants us. From that point on, we are all called to remain in God's will. It is only when we get to this point that we can change the world around us (John 15:4).

In a culture that is so focused on everything & everyone else, the question that comes up so often is how do I know who God is calling me to be?

It’s been said, that voice, doesn’t come from “out there” meaning the world, to become someone I am not. It comes from a voice “in here” calling me to be the person I was born to be, to fulfill the original selfhood that was given to me at birth by God.

So the question then becomes, “Why are you not ________?” (Fill in the blank with your name)

“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭139‬:‭13‬-‭16‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Every person on earth, regardless of their gifts and strengths, is weak, vulnerable, and dependent on God and others. 🙏🏽

Last night Ps Jacob taught on 2 Cor 12:7-10. Here’s what we walked away with 🚶🏾

We all deal with the pressure to present an image that we are strong & spiritually put “together”. 🥴

We all forget at times we are human. You are not a superhero. 🦹🏽‍♀️

Like Paul, we too struggle with unanswered prayers. 😪

Don’t forget to Thank God for your brokenness. Without it, we we can become conceited & arrogant. 🫡

When we are weak-HE IS STRONG 💪🏽

Feeling like you need to pray about this? Try this prayer:

Father, the idea of admitting to myself and to others my weaknesses and failures is very difficult. Lord, I am weak. I am dependent on you. You are God, and I am not. Help me to embrace your work in me. And may I be able to say, like Paul, “when I am weak (broken), then I am strong.” In Jesus’ name, amen. 🙏🏽
