✨ This morning was such a joy! ✨

We had the privilege of spending time with the National Honor Society for Dance Arts students from Kristi's Academy of Dance and the lovely 2025 Mu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Debutantes as we rolled up our sleeves in service for a Creative Collab! 💕 Together, we packed bags, crafted choreography, and poured our hearts into preparing for our next big event — Once Upon a Plié.

Hosted through the Aim High Initiative in partnership with Kristi’s Academy of Dance, Once Upon a Plié is a magical morning where ballet and storytime unite to inspire, empower, and build confidence in young girls.

📖✨ Through dance and books, we’ll nurture both movement and imagination.

Once Upon a Plié: The Reading Barre Series is a supported monthly program for girls ages 4–10 that combines beginner ballet and literacy enrichment through themed storytime, movement, journaling, and sisterhood. Hosted by Aim High Initiative’s Wyandotte Youth Ballet and Kristi’s Academy of Dance, sessions are held on select Saturday mornings from September to June.

Save the Date for our first events on November 15th! Sign Ups begin 10/1!

Thanks to generous community partners and donors, the program is offered at an affordable rate, with scholarships available to ensure that cost is never a barrier to participation.

In addition youth members from KAD's Chapter of the National Honor Society for Dance Arts serve as:

✏️ Literacy Activity Helpers
👑 Workshop Assistants (warm-ups, affirmations, and mentoring)

For years, we’ve been quietly supporting our community — offering scholarships, hosting small gatherings, and cheering on our kids from the sidelines. 🌱 But today, we’re excited to officially launch AIM High Initiative on social media with our first community-wide event! 🎉

Now that the kids are back TO school, let’s make sure they get THROUGH school — confident, encouraged, and thriving all year long. 🌸

Her heart for giving, her creative spirit, and her unwavering belief in every dancer make our studio the special place it is. She pours her passion into every class, guiding each student to grow, dream big, and shine brightly both on and off the stage.
