SLAP Dragons KC made the paper!

You will find a quote from our amazing President Kari.

“As you can imagine, there are not a lot of dragon boats in the Midwest, but we’re here,” began Kari Rydalch, the club’s president, “ but we sure love Olympia and are looking toward to the competition.”

Give it a read!😁

Thanks for the warm welcome Olympia Dragon Boat Festival! 💙
We can’t wait to race, make new friends, and enjoy an incredible weekend on the water. 😁

The draft race schedule is LIVE, y'all! 🤩 While some minor changes are always inevitable, this lineup should give everyone an idea of what race day will be looking like.

It's great to see all our local friends from clubs around the NW, and we've even got some new friends joining us all the way from Kansas City (shout out to SLAP Dragons KC - you've got the longest commute this year, lol)!!! 🤣 Get those paddles up, everyone, because this is going to be fun!

Great way to kick off the season.

Sun out, crew together, and a full morning of getting the boats cleaned up and ready to hit the water. A little work, a lot of laughs, and that feeling that race season is right around the corner.

This is what it’s about. 🐉

2025 was full of growth, sweat, and a whole lot of heart.

We’re grateful for every paddler, every practice, and every person who chose to show up and put in the work. This team grew because of the people in it.

We’re carrying that mindset with us into 2026. 🐉

SLAP Dragons KC showed up strong at the Stars & Stripes Festival, bringing home gold in all three events. The gold is cool but what made it even better was knowing how much we’ve grown.
