๐Ÿ’› Today, on National Cancer Survivors Day, we celebrate the incredible strength, courage, and resilience of pediatric cancer survivors.

To every child, teen, and young adult who has faced cancer: your journey is a testament to determination and hope. You have overcome challenges that most people will never fully understand, and your courage inspires everyone around you.

Today is about honoring your victoriesโ€”big and smallโ€”and recognizing the families, caregivers, healthcare teams, and supporters who walked beside you every step of the way.

As survivors, you are more than your diagnosis. You are dreamers, athletes, artists, students, leaders, and friends. Your story matters, your voice matters, and your future is bright.

Happy National Cancer Survivors Day to all the young survivors who continue to show the world what strength truly looks like. ๐Ÿ’›๐ŸŽ—๏ธ

Brain Tumor Awareness Month ends today, but our commitment to raise awareness doesn't stop today.
Everyday our hope is to bring awareness not only to brain tumors, but pediatric cancer and the impact it has on children and their families.
Together, we can shine a light in the darkest places and give families hope and support them in the only way we know how... with our hearts.

Today is May 17th and itโ€™s also DMG Awareness Day.

I will never forget sitting in that room as the doctor told us McKenna had DMG. In an instant, our lives became divided into two parts: life before diagnosis and life after.

Then came the research. Reading about this disease. Learning what it does. And eventually, living through the heartbreaking reality of what it takes from children โ€” from our child.

These kids are so much more than a statistic, and they deserve so much more than what research has been able to offer them so far.

While there are promising new treatments that may buy precious time, there is still no cure.

No cure.

Today, we honor every child and family facing DIPG/DMG. We remember the children weโ€™ve lost, stand beside those still fighting, and continue advocating for the research and treatments these kids deserve. ๐Ÿ’›

Today, on International Family Day, we honor the incredible families Brave Like McKenna has had the privilege of walking alongside this year. ๐Ÿ’›

Families navigating pediatric cancer know a road no one should ever have to walk. The appointments, the unknowns, the difficult conversations, the fear, the grief, and the strength it takes to keep showing up each day.

We know this journey personally because we have lived it, too.

The Brave Like McKenna Foundation exists to remind families they are not alone in their darkest hours. To stand beside them with support, compassion, and hope when they need it most.

To every family in the fight: we see you, we honor you, and we are holding space for your story today and every day. ๐Ÿ’›

May is Brain Tumor Awareness Month and a month that is near and dear to our hearts.
McKenna was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2023. And while not all brain tumors are cancerous, hers was.
Her diagnosis changed everything and now we help bring awareness in honor of her.
McKenna's parents and Founders of Brave Like McKenna, Janell & Keith Royer, share her story here.

This is the story of McKenna Royer. McKenna bravely battled DMG, a rare and aggressive form of pediatric brain cancer. McKenna lost her battle with DMG on Fe...
