Our crew had a fantastic time at the 100th anniversary of Theodore Naish Scout Reservation! Thank to all the scouts and scouters who came by to chat with us, play our Outdoor Ethics game, checked out our new *passport cards* to earn the OE Awareness Award, as well as picked up our new business card to spread awareness about outdoor ethics!

In keeping with our last post about storing food and disposing of waste properly, we would like to share picture with you taken in Lawrence, KS this week.
Someone left, dropped or purposely gave this squirrel a dorito chip. The squirrel was certainly not scared of the photographer. What if this was a bigger animal? A bear or a bobcat?

An animal that gets food from humans learns to expect it. That changes how it behaves — and where it goes looking. Animals that associate humans with food are more likely to end up in conflict situations. Feeding wildlife isn't kindness. It's a slow harm.

□ Recycled (glass bottle, aluminum can, etc)
□ Repurposed a item (think, worn out jeans made into a bag for groceries)
□ Used a reusable water bottle
□ Planted NATIVE plants, or grasses to help increase wildlife habitat
□ Used reusable plates & utensils on campouts
*Little decisions can make a big impact!*

We are one day away from Earth Day! 🌎 How do you plan to celebrate and help our environment? I have recently seen some rough outdoor spaces and wondered, what happen to "leaving things better than we found them?" I hope everyone can get out and do their good turn daily!
