VFW Foundation

VFW Foundation The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Foundation is the official 501(c)(3) charity of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States.

The VFW Foundation was established in 1996 to assist in securing financial resources for VFW programs and services. Through strategic relationships with corporations, private foundations, and individual supporters, the VFW Foundation helps fill in governmental assistance gaps for U.S. service personnel, veterans, and military families. WHAT WE DO
With your help, we can continue to support programs

that:

Facilitate support for VA benefit claims filing assistance
(National Veterans Service) to service members and veterans free of charge regardless of VFW affiliation. Secured $11.2 billion in support last year alone! Support troops and their families in need of financial assistance for housing, utilities, vehicle repair, food, medical or basic life needs. Provide scholarships to student veterans so that they have needed financial assistance to complete their educational goals without incurring excessive student loan debt.

The VFW Foundation, alongside the Veterans of Foreign Wars VFW, had the privilege of attending several Dream Flights events at the end of September. Dream Flights is an organization that gives veterans, particularly WWII veterans, the opportunity to fly in a restored WWII-era Stearman biplane, free of charge.

This event took place in Lawrence and included residents from Meadowlark Estates Gracious Retirement Living. It also honored Sheriff Armbrister and Undersheriff Simmons from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office with flights for their work supporting mental health for first responders. Several Kansas state officials also attended to show their support.

We’re proud to be connected with Dream Flights through the VFW’s "Sport Clips Haircuts Help a Hero Scholarship" program, which provides scholarships for veterans.
