What an awesome service project Lauren has planned out!!
Bring your new or gently used children’s books with you to JNHE where we can help her out!
Attention All Juniors!!
As the 2026 National Hereford Queen, I am excited to share my service project, “Herefords in the City.” This initiative is focused on introducing inner-city students to Hereford cattle, agriculture, and the many opportunities our industry provides. Through classroom visits, educational activities, and hands-on learning experiences, I hope to help students better understand where their food comes from and the important role agriculture plays in their everyday lives.
To support this project, I am hosting a book drive during the Junior National Hereford Expo. I am asking each junior member and family to bring one or more new or gently used children’s books. These books will be donated to the students and schools participating in the program, helping promote both literacy and agricultural education.
I would greatly appreciate your help in sharing this opportunity with the junior members in your state and encouraging them to participate. The generosity of the Hereford family has always been one of our greatest strengths, and together we can make a meaningful impact on the lives of these students.
Thank you for your support of my service project and for helping me share the story of Hereford cattle and agriculture with young people who may not otherwise have the opportunity to experience it.
I look forward to seeing everyone in Madison!
Sincerely,
Lauren Wingler
2026 National Hereford Queen
