You cannot cultivate what God has placed in your hands while constantly reaching for what He placed in someone else’s.

Comparison will keep you so occupied with another person’s harvest that you neglect the seeds God has entrusted to you.

You see their opportunities and question your own. You celebrate their growth while overlooking yours. You study their progress so closely that you forget to be faithful with your own assignment.

But you cannot steward what is in your hands if your eyes are always fixed on what is in someone else’s.

God has not called you to replicate another person’s journey. He has called you to be faithful with what He has entrusted to you.

In Matthew 25:14–30, Jesus tells the parable of the talents. Each servant was entrusted with something, and each was held accountable for how they stewarded it. The lesson was not to envy what another servant received, but to be faithful with what had been given.

Your assignment may look different. Your resources may be limited. Your season may seem slower. But none of that excuses you from cultivating what is already within your reach.

Stop waiting for someone else’s opportunity before you become faithful with your own.

Water your garden. Develop your gifts. Build with what you have. Honor the season you’re in.

You don’t need someone else’s portion to be faithful with yours.

What God has placed in your hands deserves your attention, not your neglect.

Sometimes we pray for God to take us into something new, but struggle when He asks us to change something within us. We want the new doors, the new opportunities, and the new blessings but we don’t always want to release the old habits, mindsets, and patterns that cannot accompany us into the next season.

But a new season requires more than a change in circumstances; it requires a willingness to be changed.

Romans 12:2 reminds us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. God isn’t only interested in where He is taking you; He is also concerned with who you are becoming along the way.

Don’t just ask God for a new season. Ask Him to prepare your heart, renew your mind, and develop the character needed to steward it well.

You cannot fully embrace what is ahead while refusing the growth God is calling you into today.
