Ethnic Enrichment Commission of Kansas City

♻️ We diverted over 9,500 pounds of waste from the landfill thanks to the AMAZING work of our KC Parks Ambassadors and Jacob Chapman from Moose Paw Farm at the 2026 Ethnic Enrichment Festival!

2026 Stats:
- 6,560 lbs/3.2 tons of waste for compost
- 2,560 lbs/1.5 tons of mixed recycling
- 405 lbs of glass for recycling
- 57 lbs of aluminum cans for recycling
- Educated countless festival goers about landfill waste reduction.

In total, that’s 9,582 pounds/4.8 tons of festival waste that was kept out of the landfill!

🩵We are so grateful to all of the booth volunteers, ticket gate volunteers, and behind the scenes volunteers who make this event so special! The Ethnic Enrichment Festival would not be possible without the help of the hundreds of volunteers contributing thousands of hours to the organization and event operations.

The Ethnic Enrichment Commission is a volunteer operated nonprofit and every festival vendor represents a nonprofit organization, with all booth sale proceeds benefiting their nonprofit. This festival is a labor love and passion for celebrating the diverse cultures in KC🫶!

A few moments I was able to capture at the recently concluded Ethnic Enrichment Commission of Kansas City's Ethnic Enrichment Festival. I was not there for long. So, I focused on the good food and only got to see two acts.

This past weekend, JVS was proud to be at the 47th Annual Ethnic Enrichment Festival!

It was a beautiful event that reflected our vision of thriving communities strengthened by diversity, as well as our values: all people have intrinsic worth and dignity and can flourish with support.

Check out some photos of the festivities!

THANK YOU, KANSAS CITY! 🌍❤️
What an incredible weekend at Swope Park for the 47th Annual Ethnic Enrichment Festival! To everyone who showed up, sampled food from dozens of cultures, danced to global rhythms, and shared in the warmth of our incredible community—thank you.

The Ethnic Enrichment Festival isn't just an annual event; it is the heartbeat of Kansas City's multicultural spirit. It’s a place where borders disappear, traditions are honored, and dozens of distinct cultures come together under one sky to share their heritage, art, and flavor. It reminds us that our differences don't divide us—they enrich us.

In a world that often feels fractured, Kansas City continues to lead by example. By showing up with open arms, curiosity, and genuine respect for one another, KC proves that diversity is our greatest strength. You built bridges across communities, supported local cultural organizations, and demonstrated what it truly means to be the Heart of America.

THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS PAST WEEKEND UNFORGETTABLE!

Around the world without leaving Kansas City 🌍

Spent the day at the Ethnic Enrichment Festival, celebrating the cultures, food, music, and traditions that make KC such a diverse city. So many countries represented and so much to experience in one place. 🙌🏽
