We’re officially underway!

The Rotary Club of Kansas City Plaza recently kicked off our Santa Fe Neighborhood Safety Initiative, a Rotary District Grant project focused on promoting peace and strengthening safety in Kansas City’s historic Santa Fe neighborhood.

Plaza Rotarians are installing residential safety enhancements and helping residents feel more confident using the technology. We’re grateful to partner with the Santa Fe Area Council and the residents who are helping make this initiative possible.

And we’re just getting started. There will be additional opportunities to volunteer, install, learn, and serve alongside our neighbors. Stay tuned for ways to get involved!

For the Rotary Club of Kansas City Plaza, "service above self" is something we put into action. Each month, our members volunteer at Nourish KC, helping serve food and dignity to community members in need.

From food prep and serving guests to stocking the pantry, there are plenty of ways to pitch in. Volunteers can join us for a full or partial shift on the third Tuesday of each month.

Looking for a meaningful way to give back? KC Plaza Rotary is the place to be. Come serve with us and make a difference in our community.

We enjoyed hearing from Mariah Wells and Hannah Getahun, juniors at University Academy, at last Friday’s Rotary meeting!

As two of the three students sponsored by the KC Plaza Rotary Club to attend Missouri Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) Academy, Mariah and Hannah shared that their favorite part of the experience was meeting new people from across the state and fostering deep connections through networking.

Mariah is also a graduate of the Step Up Anti-Bullying program, a youth-focused initiative supported through Rotary International grants that empowers students to recognize, prevent, and stand up against bullying.

We’re proud to invest in young leaders and create opportunities for students like Mariah and Hannah to grow, connect, and serve!

We loved hearing from Titus Woods, a rising senior at Lee’s Summit West High School, at last Friday’s Rotary meeting!

Titus was one of three students sponsored by the KC Plaza Rotary Club to attend Missouri Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) Academy—four days focused on self-discovery, teamwork, community service, and leadership.

He shared how RYLA challenged students to work together, including through a group presentation on “Rotary Riders,” their idea for improving transportation accessibility for people experiencing homelessness.

We’re proud to support young leaders like Titus as they discover how they can make a difference in their communities!
