Somali Bantu Foundation of Kansas We are the Somali Bantu community, that have come together, to help one another thrive and blend into the American culture.

By promoting and developing the community, traditional values and sense of belonging, "Somali Bantu Foundation of Kansas " will dev The somali Bantu Foundation of Kansas (SBFK) was first established in 2006 with the express goal of facilitatingthe resettlement and integration of the somali Bantu community refugee in Kansas, especially in Wyandotte County as a part of a resettlement program in the

United States. The purpose of this nonprofit organization is to help educational, cultural and life-skill trainning programs in an effort to promote self-sufficiency within and among the Somali Bantu individuals, families and all other refugees who want to participate in our program. The foundation has focused on education as a means of "Bridging the Gap" for refugees and as such provides a full range of workshops and classes to meet their needs. Somali Bantu Foundation of Kansas is a 501 (C)3 status.

The Somali Bantu Foundation of Kansas is always looking for any kind of donations to support our community. Below is a short list of some of our needs. Please feel free to contact Omar Mohamed at [email protected] or at 913-839-6282 and at 913-271-6802 for more information about specific needs and to arrange a drop-off time. Please also note if a receipt is needed upon drop-off.
Goods (blankets, pots and pans, utensils, appliances, etc.)

1. Clothing (for both children and adults including business appropriate attire)

2. Children’s toys and books

3. Educational materials (books and writing materials for children - high school student.

4.Teaching materials

5. Used computers in good condition

6. Food (canned and dried goods)

7. Diapers For children

8. Beds ( for both Children and Adults)

The Foundation and its programming are supported by small grants and personal donations. Any donation, no matter how small, will greatly aid us in accomplishing our mission. We appreciate your support. Thank you.To make tax deductible gifts to the Somali Bantu Foundation of Kansas, Inc.
