Small business owners make decisions every day. This is another one worth showing up for.

Taxes, development, workforce programs and other public decisions can affect the environment small businesses operate in.

PHKC would be nothing without... you 🧡

It rained (literally), and you came anyway.

We tried to get everybody in the frame, but the room was too ✨ full ✨ of good people! We tagged everyone we could, including some we know we missed!

To our alumni who came back for another month of A Seat at the Table, to everyone who made it into the frame, and to everyone who didn’t: thank you for stepping out in the rain to be here. Your presence was a gift.

A special 🧡 to Mr. James Bryant (James Bryant) for leading a conversation that reminded us taking care of our business starts with taking care of ourselves.

A special 🧡 to Ms. Shelia Johnson (a Cohort #1 alum!) with Shelia Johnson for keeping us (well) fed and the room warm.

NOVEMBER = new guest speaker | new alumni caterer | same great table

91 days is plenty of time to make something happen.

Close the gap. Make the move. Finish what you started.

Q4 is not the end of the year. It is your chance to finish strong.

Small business is not a small part of Kansas City. It is the backbone of it.

When local businesses grow, they create jobs, strengthen neighborhoods, and keep opportunity moving through our community.

Supporting small business means supporting KC.

Where you spend matters.

That coffee, dinner, shopping trip or gift can either send more money out of the community or help keep it moving right here in Kansas City.

Same spend. Different impact.

Some of you may already know Maddie Dierking (and for those that don’t, you willlllllllllllllllllll) - but we wanted to make it official!

Maddie’s connection to PHKC actually goes back a while. She got her start as one of Dan’s students at KU, and after graduating, went on to work as a Community Network Navigator with KCSourceLink. Now, we’re excited to bring her onto our team full circle as our new 🎉 Operations Coordinator 🎉!

In this role, Maddie will be a steady presence at the 811 Retail space, supporting our small businesses in various capacities, while also helping strengthen our internal systems and adding capacity as we continue to grow.

We’re geeeeeeked to be welcoming Maddie to the squad!

Nobody really warns you that entrepreneurship does not clock out. 😂

It is 24/7/365.

But building something of your own?

Still worth it.

Businesses change. Seasons change. People grow.

But alumni dinners always bring us back together.
