WEBINAR NEXT WEEK!

TITLE:
From Crisis to Recovery: How Treatment Courts Change Lives

πŸ“… When: Thursday, August 27th at 12:00 PM Central Standard Time
Free webinar; register:

Webinar Description: Individuals with substance use and mental health disorders who become involved in the justice system present complex challenges for law enforcement, behavioral health providers, and the courts. Traditional approaches that rely primarily on incarceration often fail to address the underlying causes of criminal behavior, contributing to repeated justice involvement and poor treatment outcomes. Treatment Courts offer an evidence-based alternative by combining judicial oversight with treatment, accountability, and recovery support to help participants achieve lasting change.

This session explores how Treatment Courts improve treatment engagement, reduce recidivism, and strengthen public safety by connecting justice-involved individuals with comprehensive services and community resources. Participants will gain an understanding of the Treatment Court model, the critical role of collaboration between justice and treatment professionals, and the research supporting these programs' effectiveness. Join us to discover how Treatment Courts transform lives, strengthen families, reduce unnecessary incarceration, and create pathways to long-term recovery and productive, self-directed living.

Spring cleaning your bookshelves? Give your books a second home with us!

Beacon Mental Health Youth Services manages a Little Free Library, and in under 4 months, it's already found new readers for over 150 books! With the addition of Level Up Kids to our building, our books now have an even greater audience of young readers to reach.

We serve a wonderfully diverse community, and for many, this library is their easiest, sometimes only, access to books.

We happily accept donations of all genres and for all ages β€” kids' picture books, YA, novels, self-help, cookbooks, you name it!

A huge thank-you to Mid-Continent Public Library and Half Price Books for their generous, ongoing support. We'd love for you to join them.

πŸ“– Clearing space at home? Let's give your books a new chapter.

Yesterday marked 4 years since the 988 Su***de and Crisis Lifeline launched πŸ“ž

In 2020, bipartisan legislation created a simple, three-digit number that anyone in crisis could remember and reach in a moment that matters. Since July 16, 2022, that number has been 988 - a direct line to support, no matter what you're facing.

At Beacon, we believe hope is always worth reaching for. If you or someone you love is struggling, 988 is there - free, confidential, 24/7.

Save it. Share it. It could save a life.

988 and 911: Know who to contact to get the right support at the right time.
