Our Community Market is looking for volunteers!

Volunteers help create a welcoming, dignified shopping experience for our neighbors by assisting with check-out, serving as cart concierges, and helping keep the Market running smoothly.

Current openings are available Monday–Thursday between 9 AM–12 PM and 1–3 PM. Volunteers must be age 16+. Participants under 18 must volunteer alongside an adult or guardian.

Juneteenth commemorates the end of chattel slavery in the United States and honors the resilience, contributions, and achievements of Black Americans throughout our nation's history. It is a day of reflection, education, celebration, and a reminder of the ongoing pursuit of equity and opportunity for all.

Thank you to our friends at for sponsoring and preparing a special Saturday lunch at the Cross-Lines Community Kitchen this past weekend!

Our guests enjoyed a delicious and nutritious meal served by KU Med students, received preventative health screenings from Mercy and Truth Healthcare Ministry, accessed community resources from Healthy Blue, United Healthcare, and Wyandot Behavioral Health Network, and took home fresh produce from Kanbe's Markets as well as treat bags with summer essentials donated by Christ Church Anglican.

Thanks to all of our community partners for their support! 💚
