MYNA stands for “Muslim Youth of North America” MYNA was created to give Muslim youth a place where they can be themselves, while surrounded by kids just like them. In this diverse community that we live in the Muslims youth especially have fallen to the side lines, but MYNA is here to give our youth an outstanding Islamic Identity. There are three ways that we achieve this goal, first through und
erstanding our faith. At monthly meeting we discuss various Islamic topics, youth discuss questions or concerns they may have about this topic or how they handle it in everyday life. Over 2011-2012 year, we have formed partnership with many different organizations including, Heart to Heart, Kansas City Community Center, Kansas City Interfaith Youth Alliance and Muslims Without Boarders, just to name a few. In this past year KC MYNA have awarded 100+ hours to youth volunteers. And lastly through recreation. Throughout the year we engage in different fun activities so the youth can just relax! For example: Snow tubing, Worlds of Fun and potluck Iftars!
