Years before the first match, KCPD, city leaders, regional partners, and the Police Foundation of Kansas City were preparing with the technology, equipment, training, and coordination needed to safely host one of the world's largest events.

For years, KCPD officers and staff planned for the demands of welcoming hundreds of thousands of visitors to Kansas City. They trained for complex scenarios, coordinated with local, regional and federal agencies, managed security across the city and worked long hours throughout the tournament.

Thank you to the men and women of KCPD for the preparation, professionalism and commitment that helped Kansas City deliver an experience of a lifetime.
