🏈 This past Saturday at PAL KCK was about more than football.

It was a day filled with laughs, mentorship, and moments that build confidence in the kids we serve. From learning new skills to celebrating with awards at the end, every part of the day mattered.

We are so grateful to our volunteers, sponsors, and the Chiefs alumni who showed up to invest their time and energy into these young lives.

More photos and the full story—highlighting the impact behind the day—will be shared in our June newsletter. Stay tuned.

Last Saturday, we attended the 5th Annual Tackling Conflict—Football Camp hosted by the Kansas City Kansas Police Department - KCKPD and the Police Athletic League of Kansas City Kansas! 🏈 Watching officers and kids connect on the field is a reminder of why community programs like this matter so much. We're proud to be a supporter.

Meet Trakell, age 19

Trakell found his way to PAL KCK through a loss that turned into a lesson. Competing in the KC Golden Gloves about a year ago, he faced a PAL KCK boxer who outperformed him despite having less experience. Instead of walking away frustrated, Trakell was impressed enough to join the PAL KCK too.

Fitness boxing remains his favorite part of PAL KCK, but the program has given him more than ring time. He's taken Driver's Ed, learned gun safety from a KCKPD police commander, and gained a clearer path forward. Officer P.J. Locke helped him see life more positively, while conversations about college have opened doors he didn't know existed. PAL KCK has connected him with resources at Donnelly College and a roadmap toward state school.

Trakell's goal is to become a psychiatrist, and he's already taking steps to get there. In the meantime, he values the family feel of PAL KCK and the way it keeps him grounded. He has brought friends and family along with him, and he is quick to express gratitude to those who make the programs possible. "It is so amazing the time and effort everyone puts in for people they don't know."

Every kid deserves the chance to explore, learn, and grow.

Thanks to Jamey Stonestreet's extraordinary donation of a Ford Excursion, PAL KCK can now transport a whole group of youth to the outings, events, and enrichment programming that shape their futures.

Big vehicle. Bigger heart. Thank you, Jamey! 🚗💙

🌍💙 From Kansas City to New Zealand — connection goes beyond borders.

Recently, we welcomed youth from New Zealand’s Blue Light program to PAL KCK, and it didn’t take long to realize — different countries, same kids. From shared laughs to time in the gym, the connection was instant.

One unforgettable moment: the group performed the powerful Haka, the traditional Maori warrior dance, leaving a lasting impression on everyone in the room.

For many of these young people, this was their first time traveling — an experience that builds confidence, broadens perspective, and creates lifelong connections.

And this is just the beginning — next year, PAL KCK youth will make the trip to New Zealand.

🎓💙 Big congratulations to Julissa! 💙🎓

Earlier this year, Julissa was recognized as our PAL KCK Kid of the Month — and on Tuesday night, she hit another major milestone… high school graduation!

Over the past few years, Julissa has brought energy, leadership, and heart to PAL KCK, always making others feel welcome and supported.

Next up: UMKC this fall! We couldn’t be more proud of all she’s accomplished and what’s ahead.

Way to go, Julissa — your PAL KCK family is cheering you on every step of the way!

🎉 What a moment! 🎉

Yesterday, 7th Street Casino surprised our PAL kids with a special check presentation — and before the big reveal, the kids took turns guessing the amount. One even guessed $1 BILLION!

While it wasn’t quite that much, the excitement was just as big when we shared the real number…

💙 **Over $18,000 raised for PAL!** 💙

These funds came from guests choosing to donate their leftover slot credits — turning small moments into a big impact for our kids.

We are so grateful to 7th Street Casino and everyone who contributed. Your support helps us continue building positive relationships and opportunities for youth in our community.
