✨ Woven Light, Moving Shadows — Thank You ✨

What a night. We began at the Epstein Gallery with internationally recognized fiber artist Janet Kuemmerlein, whose vibrant textiles, vessels, and paintings filled the space with color and movement. Jeremiah Störling shared insight into the creative vision behind the evening before we headed to the White Theater for Störling Dance Theater’s powerful production of Dorothea’s Lens.

If you joined us, share your photos and favorite moments in the comments.

✨ Woven Light, Moving Shadows ✨
Join us for an extraordinary April evening as Arts Alive KC presents two powerful experiences in fiber art and dance. We begin at the Epstein Gallery with internationally recognized fabric artist Janet Kuemmerlein, a pioneer of the fiber arts movement whose monumental textile installations, sculptural vessels, and richly colored abstractions draw deeply from the natural world. A light meal and drinks will be served, and Jeremiah Enna, Executive Director of Störling Dance Theater, will offer a preview of the evening’s performance.
At 7:00 PM, we move to the White Theater for Störling Dance Theater’s new production, Dorothea’s Lens. Through movement, set design, and costume, Mona Störling‑Enna brings Dorothea Lange’s haunting Depression‑era photographs to life—capturing both the hardship and the enduring resilience of the human spirit.

Arts Alive KC ✨

Thank you to Dr. and Mrs. Doug Cusick for opening their home and sharing their extraordinary collection of antique automatic musical instruments with us. Every piece—from the music boxes to the self‑playing grand piano—was unforgettable.

We wrapped the night at the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art with a reception, Linda Lighton’s artist talk, and a self‑guided viewing of Love & War.

If you joined us, drop your photos and favorite moments in the comments—we’d love to see the night through your eyes.

✨ More Moments From Our January Arts Alive Visit ✨

We had such a great time at Belger Arts watching the clay and glass‑blowing demos. A few more photos from our group were too good not to share.

If you were there, feel free to add your own pictures in the comments.
