Black history is disability history.
Disability justice is Black history. ✊🏾♿️
This Black History Month, we honor leaders who showed us that access, care, creativity, and resistance can exist together. Their disabilities were never limits, they were part of their brilliance.

Joyous Abilities for Children believe every child deserves joyful access to the arts, community, and opportunity no matter how they move, learn, or communicate.

We celebrate Black disabled leaders past, present, and future.
Because representation matters.
Because joy is a right. 🌈✨

Huge congratulations to our Founder & CEO, Jillian Collier, for hosting an incredible event on disability advocacy last week. “Love on the Spectrum: Disability Discussions with Miss 1914.” 💙🩷🧩

In partnership with the Chi Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., this thoughtful event brought together AUC students, disability advocates and leaders of the Spelman Disability Leadership Coalition to discuss love, inclusion, and dating barriers within the neurodiverse community.

👑As a campus queen, Jillian’s platform centers on empowering marginalized communities and inspiring students to lead with empathy, purpose, and a vision for a more inclusive and accessible future for all.

As always, “Every Human Deserves to feel Joy.”✨🫧

Jillian, who also serves as Vice President of the Spelman Disability Leadership, joined Co-President Jordan Greene to celebrate this powerful moment of advocacy and visibility.

🎉 July is Disability Pride Month! ❤️💛🤍🩵💚🖤

This month is a celebration of the strength, resilience, and brilliance of the disability community. 🌈 It began in July 1990 when the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed into law — a historic moment that paved the way for greater inclusion and rights for people with disabilities.

Disability Pride is about visibility, self-love, and breaking down societal stigma. Check slides for more info ✨
