JVS is honored to partner with Access KC, a health conversion foundation that funds critical medical services for individuals in need. Through this collaboration, we can help more community residents gain access to eye exam and glasses removing financial and geographic barriers to care. This month, we hosted an Eye Clinic at JVS for our clients. Swipe to see some photos from the clinic!

On August 5th, our partners at Urban Produce Push brought 10,000 pounds of groceries for JVS families! In addition to food, JVS had clothing and housewares available to clients. We had over 250 attendees and a flood of support from our dedicated volunteers for the Free Garage Sale! On July 31, JVS hosted our Youth Business Showcase, highlighting the work of our 2026 Microenterprise Group participants. Staff, community members, and their families joined us at our Hardesty location to learn more about the small businesses these young entrepreneurs are working towards.
Our Microenterprise Group brings together 12 aspiring young entrepreneurs who are transforming their business ideas into reality. Each participant develops a unique business concept while learning the fundamentals of entrepreneurship - from writing a business plan and creating a budget to designing a logo, developing marketing materials, pricing products, and building a social media presence.

Throughout the summer, participants met with local small business owners who shared their entrepreneurial journeys, practical advice, and lessons learned. Watching these young people embrace new challenges with creativity, determination, and confidence has been inspiring. We are incredibly proud of their hard work and excited to see how their businesses - and their futures - continue to grow.

At JVS, we understand how important it is to see the full picture. Refugees and immigrants are so much more than what you see on first glance. They are so much more than any label society could put on them. We invite you to see the full picture with us.

Some stories deserve to be seen in JVS 70mm IMAX.
