We have several research studies on our student research page that have been posted in the past month and are still looking for additional participants. Many of them will put participants into a drawing for a prize. Check them out!

Join us as we congratulate Girls on the Run KC’s Chief Operating Officer, Victoria Wymer, on being awarded MASP’s Friend of the Children Award. Victoria goes above and beyond in her role to ensure that girls in the Greater Metro area have access to a program that teaches them social emotional skills as well as health and wellness. We are beyond grateful to work with amazing community partners, like Victoria and GOTR!

🚨 Advocacy Alert: MASP stands in opposition of harmful retention policies proposed as part of HB 2872. 🚨

Our state is at a critical decision point, and the impact of HB 2872 on students cannot be overlooked. While the goal is to support struggling readers, mandatory retention is not the solution—and research shows it can lead to long-term harm, including lower achievement and increased drop out rates.

We need your voice! Our students can’t afford policies that hold them back when they need meaningful support to move forward.

• Contact your state senator
• Share why retention practices are harmful to academic and social emotional development
• Encourage them to support funding for evidence-based instruction and targeted support
