Are you thinking about not voting because local elections don't matter? Because you only vote every 4 years?

The people elected in local elections are the ones making decisions that will affect you the most directly. They are the ones who decide if potholes get filled, how your local schools are run and where houses get built.
They budget for these things, and more, on your property and sales taxes.

If you want a say in where your money goes, you have a good reason to vote.

And now you also have a reason to go to county, city and school board meetings!

All politicians are the same, elections are rigged and there is so much voter fraud!

We've all read or watched these statements in the news or on social media, and it feels like we should all just throw our hands in the air!

But it's a little more complicated than that.

Yes, there is a lot of money sloshing around, trying to affect your vote. But it is *your* vote, *you* decide, and *your* vote counts.

Pay attention to to politicians *you* choose from, local, state and federal. Are they all identical, or can you find differences among them?

And yes, there is voter fraud, but very few vote fraudulently in person, and there are independent auditors checking. Most of these problems are administrative errors, or people who are confused about their eligibility. There are some local elections in some places that dont require citizenship.
