Neighborhood Night Out is scheduled for TOMORROW, Saturday, September 27 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., in the south parking lot at Ward Parkway Presbyterian Church and will include access to the outdoor playground as well as food, fun, drinks, and more.

This year, we are pleased to announce that we will have live music from local artist, Nathan Corsi! Nathan's extensive repertoire spans a wide range of genres, covering hits from the 1950s to the present day. His performances are a fusion of his talents as a vocalist and guitarist, enhanced by his innovative use of looping, harmonica, and a stomp box.

Neighborhood Night Out is funded by the Kansas City Health Department's Strengthening the Health of Neighborhoods Program. The event is open to the general public.

What will today's vacant lot become tomorrow?
7.5 acres of land bound by 77th Street to the south, Wornall Road to the west, Wyandotte Street to the east and the Aldi/CVS/Firestone shopping plaza to the north are owned by KCPS and are currently vacant since the former Bingham School, which closed in 2001, was demolished in 2016.

Proposals to turn the site into a Hen House or a Walmart Neighborhood Market both failed, and now KCPS is looking at the future of that site, which could include a brand new $80M middle school thanks to the Bond Initiative that was passed earlier this year.

Reuse options will be discussed at a meeting on Saturday, September 13, hosted by KCPS and Waldo Towers at the Kansas City Public Library – Waldo Branch (201 E 75th St) at 10 AM.
