Located in the River Market, Bubbles & Goo is an immersive bubbles-and-slime experience with giant bubbles, slime-making stations, bubble experiments, and sensory play. For this event, neighbors are invited to stop by, explore the space, and see what this new downtown business is all about.

The open house is free and open to all ages, and we’ll have snacks available. Whether you come with friends, or just want to check out something new in the neighborhood, we’d love to see you there.

Today DNA leaders, other neighborhood stakeholders, City of Kansas City Public Works representatives, and MARCKCMetro participated in a walk audit of the downtown core as part of MARC’s Regional Housing & Transportation Plan. Walk audits provide an on-the-ground assessment of the relationship between housing, transportation, and the built environment across the greater Kansas City region. This allows for partners like MARC to look beyond technical analysis to directly experience and identify the conditions that influence mobility, accessibility, housing opportunity, and quality of life.

It’s great to have partners like MARC in DNA’s back yard. Observations shared with MARC include needs for affordable housing, improving quality of life by cultivating third spaces, and discussing needed infrastructure improvements downtown.

The proposal for a 20-story data center at 934 Central is recommended for denial by City Plan Commission.

No continuance. No “no recommendation.” Just more opposition to a development that would dramatically change our neighborhood without contributing to what makes our part of Kansas City vibrant and special.

It can sometimes feel like the numbers are against us. This time, the numbers were on our side.

The hearing for the data center at 934 Central is on August 5th. Have your voice heard on this project by sending a letter to City Planning Commission. Details in the post.
