The Franklin Center is an old school building that was deeded to the community by the school district in the late '70's for $5000. The interior at that time was in very poor condition. The community came together and brought the old building back to life. About 5 years ago a couple of the pillars that were responsible for the building retired and handed it off to some folks that dropped the ball. Eventually the building was abandoned and left to vandals and scrappers. The community refuses to let the building die and is working hard to bring it back to life! The vision is that the Franklin Center will once again be the buzzing hub of our neighborhood, enlivening it with thoughtful spaces, people, and organizations that make us want to live in the Argentine neighborhood more than anywhere else in the world.
