Women hold just 27.5% of parliamentary seats worldwide. This represents only a 0.3 percentage point increase from 2025 — the second consecutive year of the slowest growth rate since 2017.

Women remain underrepresented in political power, with progress moving far too slowly.

To build a more peaceful, inclusive and fair future, women must be equally represented in decision-making at all levels.
