Piper Optimist Club

Piper Optimist Club Piper Optimist Club is a 501(c)(3) organization that supports youth in the Piper community through scholarships, athletic programs, and student opportunities.

Members of the Optimist Club of Piper are men of all ages and backgrounds. We are affiliated with Optimist International, an international service organization of similar goals. We are a hands-on club that rolls up its sleeves instead of sitting on the sidelines. We believe that, through young people, we can influence the future by encouraging good academics, citizenship, a love of sports and spor

tsmanship, and an optimistic view of life. As a club member, you will have lots of opportunities to make a real difference in a young person’s life. You might be a league sports coach, a scorekeeper or an announcer. Or, you might judge an essay contest. We finance our programs through donations and other “fun” fund raising events.

Last Friday, the Piper Optimist Club was proud to sponsor a team in the annual Fraternal Order of Police (F.O.P.) golf tournament. We love stepping up to support our local law enforcement and the incredible work the F.O.P. does for our community.

Representing us on the course was a powerhouse foursome made up entirely of our very own Piper Optimist Club members! Not only did they have a great day supporting a fantastic cause, but they also brought their A-game, taking home 1st Place (in the C Flight)!

Huge congratulations to the recipients of this year's Piper Optimist scholarships! We are incredibly proud to support these outstanding individuals as they take the next step in their academic journeys.

We are saddened to share the passing of Ron Stitt, a dedicated longtime member of the Piper Optimist Club.

Ron was a cornerstone of our organization for over 20 years, a constant advocate for the community, and a friend to many.

For those who wish to honor Ron's memory and support the Stitt family, services will be held as follows:

Celebration of Life
• When: Thursday, May 7 | 4:00pm until 8:00pm
• Where: Ag Hall Event Barn | Bonner Springs, KS

Funeral Service
• When: Friday, May 8
• Where: Sacred Heart Catholic Church | Tonganoxie, KS
• Visitation: 8:00am - 8:45am (casual visiting with the family)
• Funeral Mass: 9:00am

The full obituary will be posted by Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Kansas City, KS.
