Unbound is a Kansas City-based nonprofit organization that walks in solidarity with the poor and marginalized of the world, accompanying families on their unique and self-directed paths out of poverty. Since 1981 and thanks to the partnership of people like you, we have distributed more than $2 billion in aid and supported more than 1 million children, youth and elders in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Rated the highest child sponsorship charity in the United States, more than 90 percent of Unbound’s expenses go toward program support. 🧵 For years, Rosa carried a dream of learning how to sew.

With encouragement from her mothers group and a determination to create more opportunities for her family, Rosa decided to take a leap of faith and enroll in sewing classes. Balancing training with raising four children wasn't easy, but she persisted.

Today, she runs a sewing business from her home, helping support her children's education and household needs.

For students in this indigenous community in the Philippines, getting to school means crossing a river.
