One of the worst possible outcomes of leaving a gun unsecured is the serious injury or death of someone you love. But there are other serious consequences to unsecured guns, like a teen using your firearm to carry out a school shooting, or a gun being stolen from your vehicle and then used in a violent crime.

Let’s do our part to keep kids, our schools, and our communities safe by securing guns in homes and vehicles — stored unloaded, locked, and separate from ammunition. Taking these simple steps could prevent a tragedy.

Be SMART for Kids was at the Community Baby Shower in Johnson County! Great attendance by so many new families. The team gave out lots of information and gun locks. People were very interested and engaged.

Wichita police said a 12-year-old girl suffered a gunshot wound to her stomach after being accidentally shot by a 19-year-old man in the 2300 block of S. Laura Street.

Our children deserve better. Text READY to 644-33 to join the movement of Americans working to eradicate gun violence in America.

The shooting happened in the 1700 block of S. Hillside.
