Last Wednesday, Young Women on the Move officially opened our Discovery Center!

Our new space, designed to help young women reach their full potential, features:

🎥💻📷 THE MEDIA LAB. Students can record podcasts, take photos, and produce short films with our state-of-the-art equipment.

✨💡🛋️THE DISCOVERY ROOM. A computer lab with a dedicated space for small group collaboration, planning, and presenting.

🧵🎨⚙️THE MAKER SPACE. Conduct an experiment or create something new with art supplies and craft materials.

Thank you to the incredible community members who came out to celebrate, and to our partners that helped make this vision possible, including YWOM board member and Mayor of Wyandotte County Christal Watson — listen to part of her powerful speech on slide 2!

We can’t wait to see the creativity, confidence, and leadership that will grow here!

We meet them where they are through BOLD, supporting social and emotional wellness in their schools.
We walk beside them through Trailblazers & Vanguard Rising, building leadership, confidence, and purpose.
We launch them forward through vocational and college exploration, expanding what they believe is possible.
And then — we watch them lead.
They reweave the social fabric of their neighborhoods by hosting Good Neighbor Cafés, creating connection, belonging, and hope.
