Street Support KC is a nonprofit that provides homeless outreach services across Kansas City.

Each month, volunteers come together to distribute food, hygiene items, clothing, and other essentials to our neighbors in need.

Did you know? Almost 63% of people experiencing homelessness reported having to carry their belongings with them? Only 37% had a safe place to store them.

For someone without a permanent place to call home, a backpack can be much more than a bag. It can be where they keep their clothing, hygiene products, food, important documents and other essentials.

That’s why backpacks are such an important item at Street Support KC outreach events.

For hundreds of thousands of people, that means living in places like streets, vehicles, or other locations never intended to be a home.

That’s why meeting people where they are is at the heart of Street Support KC.

October outreach events are coming up!

Starting this month, Street Support KC is officially expanding to two outreach events each month!

We’ll be distributing food, clothing, hygiene products, and other essential supplies while connecting our neighbors with additional community resources.

More outreach. More resources. More opportunities to support our neighbors in need.

Did you know 63% of people experiencing homelessness reported being able to wash their clothes only 1–2 times per month?

Without consistent access to laundry, something as simple as a clean shirt or pair of pants can make a meaningful difference.

That’s why clothing is such an important part of Street Support KC’s outreach. Every event, we work to provide our neighbors with clean clothing and other essentials that offer comfort, dignity, and one less thing to worry about. 💙

Did you know homelessness and disability are deeply connected?

National data shows that more than half of people in adult-only households accessing homeless shelters and services report having a disability.

At Street Support KC, we see firsthand how disabilities can create additional challenges for people already experiencing homelessness.

That’s why accessibility, dignity, and meeting people where they are matter at every outreach event. Everyone deserves access to the support and resources they need. 💙

We’re growing — and so is our outreach!

Starting in October, Street Support KC will officially expand to TWO outreach events every month!

Thanks to the incredible support of our donors, volunteers, and community partners, we’re receiving more food, clothing, hygiene products, and essential supplies than ever before. And we want to get those items into the hands of people who need them faster.

What started as a small outreach effort continues to grow. And this next step means more opportunities to show up for our neighbors experiencing homelessness throughout Kansas City!

Food or a doctor’s appointment? For too many people, that’s a real choice.

According to Feeding America, 32% of people surveyed who were facing hunger reported skipping medical appointments to afford food.

At Street Support KC, providing food is about more than filling a bag. It can help ease one of the many difficult trade-offs our neighbors face every day.

Everyone deserves access to food without sacrificing their health.

⚽ From the FIFA World Cup to the streets of Kansas City.

Thanks to an incredible donation from Kansas City World Cup 2026 brand-new FIFA World Cup volunteer gear is getting a second life supporting our neighbors in need!

T-shirts, jackets, athletic shorts, joggers, socks, ponchos, towels and more were donated to Street Support KC following the World Cup and being distributed directly at our outreach events.

We’re incredibly grateful to see items from one of the biggest events in Kansas City history continue making an impact right here in our community.

At Street Support KC, we’re working to make every outreach event a connection point to even more help.

Along with essential items, we’re connecting our neighbors with local organizations, services, and resources that can provide support long after our events end.
