Street Support KC Founder and Executive Director Matthew Entringer was honored this week with the Buck O’Neil Legacy Seat Award from the Kansas City Royals.

The award recognizes individuals making a positive impact in the Kansas City community through leadership, service, and character.

We’re incredibly grateful to the Royals for this honor and thankful for the volunteers, donors, and supporters who continue to make our outreach efforts possible each month.

Before we even started, a line had already formed around the block. In May, we served more than 110 neighbors experiencing homelessness in downtown Kansas City.

One moment that stuck with us was Bob. After receiving a sleeping bag, he thanked us over and over — it meant he’d finally have something soft to sleep on.

This is why we show up. If you believe in this work, give this a share so more people can be part of it.

Some people just need a little extra help right now.

At Street Support KC, we meet people where they are—whether it’s food, clothing, hygiene items, or just showing up consistently when they need it most.

For many, this support makes a real difference in getting through the day.

Our next Street Support KC outreach event is this Saturday, May 2nd at 9 a.m. outside the downtown Kansas City Central Library.

We’ll be handing out food, clothing, blankets, backpacks and essential supplies to people experiencing homelessness. If you or someone you know is in need please come down and we'll be happy to help you!

At our last outreach, we had young volunteers step up—handing out supplies, organizing items, and helping serve those in need alongside our team.

It’s powerful to see the next generation showing up with compassion and a willingness to help others. These moments matter—not just for the people we serve, but for the kids learning what it means to give back.

When it storms, the people we serve are still outside—walking, waiting, trying to stay dry with whatever they have. A simple rain poncho or umbrella can mean staying warm, protecting belongings, and avoiding getting soaked for hours.

We’re currently in need of rain ponchos and umbrellas for upcoming outreach events. Small items like these make a big difference in tough conditions.

Backpacks and duffel bags might seem simple but for the people we serve, they’re essential.

They carry everything: clothing, hygiene items, documents, food… their entire life, all in one place. Having a durable bag means staying organized, protecting belongings, and maintaining a sense of dignity day-to-day.

We’re currently in need of backpacks and duffel bags for upcoming outreach events. If you’re able to help, you can purchase directly from our Amazon Wishlist and have items shipped to us.

Huge thank you to Flourish: A Furniture Bank for their generous donation of luggage!

These suitcases went directly into the hands of people experiencing homelessness—giving them a safe, reliable way to carry and protect their belongings. Something as simple as a suitcase can make a meaningful difference in their day-to-day life.

We’re incredibly grateful for partners like Flourish who help us meet real, practical needs in our community.

We had more kids at our outreach this weekend than we’ve ever seen before.

A young girl pulling a small suitcase behind her, waiting patiently while her family gathered what they needed.

It’s a reminder that the need in our community is growing in ways we don’t always see.

This past Saturday, we served 110 individuals at our monthly outreach.

One thing we continue to notice—more children and families are showing up in need of support. Kids standing in line, helping carry supplies, and receiving the same essentials needed to get through the day.

Thanks to our volunteers and partners, we were able to provide food, clothing, hygiene items, and other critical supplies to everyone we served.

We’re grateful to be there each month but the growing need is real. If you’d like to support future outreach events, there are plenty of ways to get involved.
