June 30, 2026 and July 13, 2026 are dates we won't forget – and neither should you!

The first date is when we let everyone know that Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas is making YMCA 360 available to all of its more than one million members in 103 of 105 Kansas counties who access benefits through BlueAccess.

Today, we're adding another big statewide announcement ...

The Kansas Health Foundation and YMCA are coming together for a three-year partnership, backed by a $600,000 KHF grant, to bring preventive health, connection and opportunity to a targeted 1 in 3 Kansans, or one million residents.

You and all Greater Wichita YMCA members are at the center of everything good that's happening inside and outside of our association!

Overnight camp for youth can be transformative! Thank you to the community members who financially support campers and allow them to experience Camp Wood YMCA!

Nearly 20 kids from Salina headed to Camp Wood YMCA this week, many of them attending at no cost thanks to scholarship support and community generosity.

What a historic day! The Y was proud to play a small role in this new agency’s formation!

We were honored to play a small role in helping get this important piece of legislation passed! Expanded access to child care is vitally important, and this bill helps carve the path.

I was proud to sign SB 82—smart, commonsense legislation that strengthens child care access in Kansas. By updating the business tax credit for child care, we’re ensuring Kansas’ economy can thrive while making our state a place where families want to put down roots.

175 years strong — and Kansas YMCAs showed up to celebrate!

Yesterday was one of the most incredible days in the history of Kansas YMCA advocacy. Our Y advocates filled the Kansas Statehouse to mark the 175th anniversary of the YMCA in America, and the day was nothing short of historic.

🎂 We cut the cake and celebrated 175 years of building healthy spirit, mind, and body for all — from Boston in 1851 to 23 communities across Kansas today.

📜 Our advocates were recognized on the floor of the Kansas House of Representatives by Rep. Jesse Borjon and watched Senator Scott Hill introduce a Senate resolution in our honor — a formal acknowledgment of the Y’s legacy and our impact on Kansas families.

🤝 We were honored to be joined by Governor Laura Kelly, who took time to personally recognize the good work our Y community does every single day.

🏆 And we proudly presented our very first YMCA Legislative Champion Awards to three outstanding Kansas leaders who go above and beyond for the communities we serve:
• Senate Majority Leader Chase Blasi
• Senate Minority Leader Dinah Sykes
• Representative Sean Tarwater, Chair, House Commerce, Labor & Economic Development Committee

Congratulations to our inaugural champions— and thank you for standing with the Y!

In 2025 alone, Kansas YMCAs served 502,788 Kansans, reached 169,386 young people, provided 939,197 meals and snacks, and delivered over $10.5 million in financial assistance. That’s the Y. That’s you.

To every advocate, volunteer, staff member, and legislator who made yesterday possible — thank you. Here’s to 175 more years! 💙
