The Urban Neighborhood Initiative was created through a partnership between the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce and the United Way of Greater Kansas City. UNI strives to build communities with purpose on purpose where every household member is engaged, encouraged, elevated, and educated through the joys of stable housing, quality programming, and impactful services. The transformation is happening.

Construction continues to make incredible progress on Crescendo, Urban Neighborhood Initiative's 39-unit mixed-income housing community located near Kansas City's historic 18th & Vine District.

With each passing week, this vision becomes more of a reality. Soon, Crescendo will provide high-quality homes where individuals and families can put down roots, build stability, and enjoy access to one of Kansas City's most culturally significant neighborhoods.

This development represents more than new construction—it reflects our commitment to expanding housing opportunities, strengthening neighborhoods, and creating communities where people of different income levels can thrive together.

As we move closer to completion, we're grateful to our partners, supporters, and construction teams whose dedication is helping bring this project to life. We can't wait to welcome residents and celebrate the next chapter for this incredible community.

For the past three years, DaMont has been a driving force behind UNI’s commitment to empowering young people, creating opportunities, and building pathways to success for youth across our community. His passion, dedication, and unwavering belief in the potential of every young person have helped shape programs that inspire growth, leadership, and achievement.

Seeing the students at Lincoln Middle School explore programming, robotics, and hands-on technology through this Tech Club has been incredibly rewarding. Opportunities like these help build confidence, creativity, and critical skills that will serve students well into the future.
