โš ๏ธ Poor oral health = more missed school, fewer job opportunities, and worse overall health.
Itโ€™s a key part of the cycle of poverty in many U.S. communities. But it doesnโ€™t have to be.

Thank you to Todd Krass for his incredible nine years of service on the Cass Community Health Foundation Board of Directors.๐ŸŽ‰

Since joining the board in 2017, Todd has been a dedicated leader, advocate, and champion for our mission. He played a key role in the success of our annual 5K for Health, serving as Co-Chair in 2023 and Chair in 2024. Under his leadership, the event achieved a major milestoneโ€”raising more than $100,000 for the first time ever! Todd consistently helped strengthen our community connections, recruit new 5K supporters and teams, engage local businesses, and foster support from the medical staff at Belton Regional Medical Center. He also assisted in identifying future board leaders and generously hosted our quarterly board meetings at Belton Regional for many years.

Please join us in congratulating Todd on his retirement and thanking him for his many years of service. ๐Ÿ‘ We will miss his leadership and involvement, but his impact on Cass Community Health Foundation will be felt for years to come.

Your smile has an enormous impact on your future! Kids who suffer from toothaches can have a hard time sleeping at night and focusing at school resulting in poor attendance and lower grades. Adults with visible decay or missing teeth may refrain from smiling at job interviews or when meeting new people. This gives the false impression that theyโ€™re unfriendly, dishonest, or unintelligent!

A healthy smile wonโ€™t guarantee straight Aโ€™s or that youโ€™ll land your dream job, but it can help! Take care of your smile every day!

This month, Cass Community Health Foundation and Cass County Dental Clinic are joining America's ToothFairy to spread awareness about how your smile affects yourself and others. You can join us at ShareYourSmileCampaign.org.

We want to send a very BIG thank you to Teresa Deaton for serving as Chair of the 32nd Annual 5K for Health that took place on May 2, 2026! ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ’™ Teresa's dedication and enthusiasm helped make this event a tremendous success โ€” raising more than $102,000 for our safety net dental clinic, Cass County Dental Clinic! From planning to race day, her commitment played a key role in bringing our community together in support of a great cause.

Thank you, Teresa, for your time, energy, and passion. We are so grateful for all you do! ๐Ÿ‘

During the 2025-2026 school year, Cass Community Health Foundation provided free dental screenings to 7,234 students in Cass County and surrounding area schools โ€” the highest number in the programโ€™s history! ๐ŸŽ‰โœจ๐Ÿฆท

This year, our school-based screening program expanded to include middle school students in Harrisonville, Grandview, and Belton, helping us reach even more children with preventive dental care.

๐Ÿ“Š By the numbers:
โœ… 7,234 students screened
โœ… 1,198 volunteer hours
โœ… 16% of students were identified as needing dental care and connected to follow-up resources

These screenings do more than check teeth. They provide oral health education, hygiene supplies, fluoride treatments, and connections to care through Cass County Dental Clinic when needed.

A huge THANK YOU to our volunteer dentists, dental hygiene students, school nurses, community volunteers, and school district partners who made this incredible achievement possible. They are helping us ensure children stay healthy, confident, and ready to learn! ๐Ÿ’™

It's one year later and we're still smiling! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ˜Itโ€™s hard to believe itโ€™s already been one year since we celebrated the grand opening of the new Cass County Dental Clinic in Belton!

As we celebrate this milestone, weโ€™re filled with gratitude for the donors, volunteers, and community partners who made this possible. Your belief in improved oral health for our community continues to create healthier smiles and brighter futures for generations to come.
