GlobeMed at University of Missouri-Kansas City

GlobeMed at University of Missouri-Kansas City UMKC's current project with Kyetume CBHCP is to raise funds to build a health care center in Kyakuterekera, Uganda.

Through a partnership with Kyetume Community Based Health Care Programme, we are helping to make sustainable change in a community for health and social equity. This community suffers from lack of access and high need for proper healthcare services. Working with Kyetume CBHCP, GlobeMed hopes to establish a healthcare center that will provide HIV and other basic outpatient services to the community

. Future projects will involve building the capacity of the proposed clinic to handle more social issues such as s*x education for youth and counselling services. Together, Kyetume CBHCP and GlobeMed's long-term aim is to bring Kyetume's integrated community based health care approach to the community in Kyakuterekera. GlobeMed at UMKC is a student lead organization that partners with Kyetume Community Based Health Care Programme in Mukono, Uganda. This partnership focuses on promoting sustainable public health programs in the community surrounding Kyetume CBHCP. This allows GlobeMed members to connect with families in Mukono while fundraising for public health projects for their community. Currently our chapter has a primary focus on youth health and s*xual health issues.
