The application deadline is fast approaching for the Kauffman Foundation Summer Internship Program. Applications are due Jan. 30.

The program engages post-secondary students in a paid summer internship experience with meaningful project work and professional development from June 8 to July 31. Opportunities are open to all students who reside in Kansas or Missouri, have completed high school, and are currently pursuing credentials, certificates, undergraduate, and/or graduate programs. We value students with diverse perspectives and life experiences who are curious and passionate about our mission. Specifically, we seek interns who want to join us as we strive to prepare people for success in their jobs and careers so that everyone can achieve economic stability, mobility, and prosperity.

This Giving Tuesday, be an INVESTOR... a VISIONARY... a GAME-CHANGER!

Wenjie lives in Wyandotte County and attends KCKCC because of affordable tuition. After getting an Associates in Nursing from KCKCC, he will transfer to the University of Kansas to get a BSN.

Wenjie stretches every dollar to make his dream happen. He drives for Uber on weekends.

But tough classes like anatomy require long study hours. A full class load and weekend study groups, make Uber-driving difficult.

Thankfully, Wenjie got a KCKCC Foundation scholarship.

Wenjie says, “A scholarship makes a big difference. It might seem like a small amount, but it is precious to a struggling student, like me.”

Because of people like you, Wenjie breathes easier!

Now, Wenjie is reducing the nursing shortage.

It has been a wonderful last few weeks welcoming our friends and partners who support the mission of Kansas City Kansas Community College.

President KCKCC President - Dr. Greg Mosier welcomed Norman Smith - Companies https://www.facebook.com/NPBCompanies, Rhonda Reddick and Kevin Reddick, representatives of the Chandler Turner Scholarship Fund Incorporated https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100094313872116 to talk about new ways to open more doors for students through scholarship partnerships.

Also, the KCKCC Foundation & Alumni Association team and board member Brian Boyd were delighted to host a Community Coffee where Scott Wagner from Wagner Classic Cars https://www.wagnersclassiccars.com/ and Cristal Ugarte from Security Bank of Kansas City https://www.facebook.com/lookfortheleaf joined the conversation to learn more about volunteer service on our board and committees.

These conversations spark new opportunities for our students and community. We are grateful they chose KCKCC Foundation & Alumni Association as their starting point.
