FreeWheels for Kids

FreeWheels for Kids FreeWheels for Kids exists to get more kids on bikes more often and more safely. We bring cycling to at-risk kids in Kansas City.

Kids 12-18 learn to repair and refurbish bicycles for others in their community, earn their own bikes and learn to ride safely. We empower kids in Kansas City to be mobile, healthy and leaders in their communities.

Kids ages 12-18 learn to repair bikes in our Earn-a-Bike classes, and give a repaired bike to children ages 6-11 in their community. Youth are encouraged to donate bicycles that may not fit them anymore and "give back" as they earn their own refurbished bike. If you or your business would like to sponsor a class, please contact us! FreeWheels sponsorship is a great way to spread a reputation as a business that cares about the community, and since you are sponsoring a specific class, you will be able to reach customers in your neighborhood! We hold periodic bike drives to collect donated bikes. For information on the next drive, please contact [email protected]
