The purpose of the River Market Community Association is to create a community that is cohesive in it

As part of the greater downtown area, the River Market Community Association links residents, visitors and businesses. Our board stays informed about and involved with issues that impact the River Market area through its partnerships with local government agencies, non-profit organizations and other neighborhood associations. Our Mission: Create a community that is cohesive in its communication, builds relationships between businesses and residents, and promotes and enhances a sense of community through marketing, networking and events. 🌱 Join the RMCA Garden Club this Saturday!

Meet us at 10 AM at 2nd & Walnut as we plant seven small serviceberry trees along the grassy area in front of Old Towne Lofts. We’ll also be adding more stonecrop ground cover to the artful median!

As always, gloves, tools, and a light snack will be provided. No experience needed!

With cooler temperatures and some much-needed rain on the way, we’re looking forward to more fall planting. 🍂 We hope to see you Saturday!

Take two! 🌱 Join the RMCA Garden Club Saturday morning at 10 AM at the Off-Leash Dog Area (5th & Locust).

We’ll be digging up the native rose mallows and moving them over to 3rd & Walnut, where they’ll get a new home along the brick wall by the new mural.

Gloves, tools, and coffee are provided. No gardening experience needed, just bring yourself and a friend or two!

Looks like we have a gorgeous morning ahead. We hope to see you there! 🌿

This week’s River Market Melodies has been postponed due to weather. The Eboni Fondren Quartet will now perform next Thursday, October 8th at City Market Park.

Join the RMCA Garden Club tomorrow morning at 10 AM at the Off-Leash Dog Area (5th & Locust). We're digging up some gorgeous native rose mallows and moving them over to 3rd & Oak, where they'll get a new home along the brick wall by the new mural.

Gloves, tools, and coffee are provided. Just bring yourself!

Fun fact: our Garden Club started back in 2023, and the perennials we planted that first year have officially gone through their "sleep, creep, leap" cycle. They sleep the first year while their roots settle in, creep a little the second year, and leap to full size in year three. That means it's time to split plants and move seedlings around, and this season we'll have plenty to share, from purple poppy mallows to columbine to wild strawberries. Free plants for the neighborhood! 🌱

And a big thank you to everyone who came out last Saturday to clear the purple poppy mallow at Nature's Own, pull weeds on the lower level, and plant some rattlesnake master.

If it's raining too hard, we'll postpone. Watch for an update Saturday morning!
