Today we're celebrating National Non-Profit Day, a holiday honoring the people behind the nation's nonprofits. Falling a day after 816 Day, we want to salute all of the great organizations that serve our area specifically. We're proud to be one of the very oldest, and, at 147, we look pretty good for our age.

We love Central Bank's commitment to our community. Their team joined us again last week at the Serve&Lift Market to help prepare fresh pineapple, cherries, and peaches for our neighbors. The Serve&Lift Market has a new pet section! In our mission to keep whole families fed, we're proud to now be able to include its four-legged members too.

Along with cat and dog food, we have supplies like collars (including a pink one with spikes that will certainly go fast) and some diapers for the elder pups out there. We even have a limited supply of Churu--those liquid treats that drive cats wild. This has prompted our feline friends to suggest a name change: the Slurp&Lick Market.

Whenever we are blessed with abundance, we embrace it. Right now, our shelves at the Serve&Lift Market are full of bread, and Erin is helping ensure nothing goes to waste by turning it into tasty, longer-lasting favorites like croutons and bread pudding. Because cubed bread is the best thing since sliced bread.

Making croutons is as easy as pie (actually a lot easier than pie), so if you're shopping our market and would like to learn how, just ask! Little makes us happier than knowing that people will enjoy every last bite of the food they receive from us.
